St. Catherine of Siena has the honor of being called a Doctor of the Church. She was athird order Dominican, and was very involved in helping the poor and in the politics of her day. She was an avid letter writer, and even gave advise to the Pope! She worked hard to unify thechurch, had mystical experiences, and was known in her lifetime as a strong and holy woman.
